travel postcards, practical advice, images and snippets of randomness

I should let this go, but they just keep coming up with more crap…

The Archbishop of Westminster, Vincent Nichols, has apparently decided that he can understand the ‘attraction of arguments for the use of contraception in the developing world’ – and the press is reacting like this is some sort of major insight and a step towards a liberalisation of attitudes, details here…

Really its just another excuse to spout more claptrap: “The use of condoms doesn’t lack for champions; there are plenty of champions around giving and distributing condoms. I don’t think it’s the Church’s role simply to add its voice to that but rather, in contrast, to keep saying, “If we solve the poverty then consistently we know the birth rate comes down’.

The last sentence beggars belief; coming from a representative of an organisation that is as cash rich as they are; even after they have paid for their recent ‘bother’.

Another way of looking at this, is that the attitudes of a certain church have caused and promoted poverty in large parts of the developing world, as well as the spread of fatal and economically ruining diseases.
The leader of this outfit should be facing charges of genocide.

As we know; the Catholic Church has never been much troubled by facts – they only forgave Galileo in 1992 – an humorous take on recent events here…
